Embracing Self-Discovery: Uncover the Real You

We’ve all been there—moments when life feels like a rollercoaster, with high-flying joys and gut wrenching lows. One moment, you’re feeling like a superstar, ready to tackle the world. The next moment, you find yourself grappling with doubts, fears, and even that impostor syndrome. It’s the not-so-clear, messy part of us that guide us to the real you. Let’s dive into this quirky journey together.
Discovering the Real You
Finding the real you starts first with seeing the “not you.” We all have these layers like an onion. As you peel back those layers, you’ll find tears streaming down your face (thanks, onion!). But when you bravely confront the darker elements within, that’s where the magic begins. You’ll shine a bright light on the cobwebs hiding in the corners of your heart.
When the uncomfortable truths rise to the surface, don’t flinch. It can be tempting to back away, but resolve to face it. Look at it, watch it, and don’t run away from the feelings it brings. The pain and discomfort will feel never-ending, but it will pass.
No Need to Puff Up or Sink Down
The rule to remember is: resist the urge to puff yourself up to tackle the mess. Don’t deal with it. The light in you gives you the power to see it. It will also show you that you can’t deal with it no matter what variation it is in. Don’t let your ego step in and try to deal with it and then spiral in despair.
Instead, It’s about being an observer in your life. Think of yourself as a friendly tourist touring your own emotional landscape. You don’t have to stay forever, just take it all in and let it go.
Feel that residual sting when old demons reappear? It’s okay! Just do what you did before: observe. Rinse and repeat. It’s not about fighting your shadow self. It’s about acknowledging its presence and letting it pass through like clouds in the sky.
The Ego Way
When you notice the “not you,” don’t engage with it in the traditional sense of effort. The light in you when you meditate is powerful. It helps you to see what’s there. It also shows you that battling these negative feelings head-on is a futile exercise when your false self gets involved.
When you see that it is hopeless to deal with it on your own, you become depressed. It’s only hopeless if you keep dealing with it the ego way. When we meditate, it fosters clarity and closes the door to disorder. The real you is the door for entrance into the clarity of the Higher Mind. You live in a mansion but you were hanging out inside the closet of your ego mind.
Embrace the Journey
Let’s wrap this up with a little encouragement. It all starts with a pure desire to know and understand the truth about yourself. Keep in mind that the not-you isn’t a permanent resident inside you. It’s more like a guest passing through. Acknowledge it, let it be, and understand that with time, you’ll learn to navigate those waves with greater ease.
As you traverse the often rocky road of self-discovery, remember this: your light has great power. It can illuminate the hidden corners, allowing you to see the “not you” clearly. With patience and a gentle heart, you can observe without judgment. You’ll realize that this journey is not about fighting your inner battle. It is more about understanding and embracing all parts of yourself. Keep going—the real you is waiting to shine!
