We all have something in common: we struggle with growing up. We navigate through it in quirky and often messy ways. Children have a fascination with swearing and an obsession with the lower parts of their bodies. This is a fundamental part of their growth. Yet, there’s a lot more swirling in that kiddie chaos than meets the eye. It has everything to do with how we, as humans, avoid facing the hard truths of life.

Grown-up Realities

As children, we don’t really want to deal with the whole idea of grown-up realities. It’s like walking through a garden of delights and suddenly stumbling upon a big, ugly truth flower. Oops! No thanks! Instead, we cover up our awkwardness and confusion with imaginative play, wild laughter, and the occasional four-letter word. It’s almost like our minds are at a party. As the music gets louder, the conversation turns to the raunchiest jokes. Sometimes the lower thoughts are the go-to for a good giggle or for escaping the daunting unknown of adult life.

When children start growing up, they often feel the weight of societal expectations. They want an imaginative shield. A little bubble of colorful words and playful concepts to help them understand their own unfolding reality. Growth can seem almost shameful to kids, because it strips them of the whimsical fantasy in which they play pretend. The light of truth exposes the messy concepts that they are not yet ready to confront. So, kids retreat to lower thoughts and dirty conversations to keep the light at bay while they explore their identity.

The Destiny of Maturity

As children approach the threshold of adulthood, the mind must let go of childish imaginations and face reality head-on. It’s crucial for growth, almost like breaking out of an egg. The process involves shedding old habits. It also involves wrestling with the uncomfortable truths about ourselves and the universe. During this stage, they’re on the brink of transforming into something more than just adorable little creatures. They’re becoming complex beings capable of profound insights and emotions. But, this change requires the embrace of truth. It must challenge the ‘ego animal’ and plant the seeds of something greater.

This transformation isn’t some brash, dramatic affair. Instead, it gently teases out an essence of salvation, allowing individuals to evolve into a more mature being. This understanding doesn’t clash. It whispers softly in the back of our minds, urging us to peel back the layers of obscurity. But for many, especially in those formative teen years, this can be terrifying. Who wants to face the serious side of life? There are plenty of distractions, like swearing or perverse humor that can shield us from those daunting realities.

The Trap of Obscenity

As we grow older, something peculiar happens. Some folks gravitate towards obscene language and lower conversations. They use these as a way to distract and escape from the profound truths that are so hard to digest. The more we descend as human beings, the more we seek these escapes to find refuge in. The focus on the filthy and the taboo staves off deeper conversations about our lives and struggles.

It’s a distraction, a low-level entertainment that keeps us hooked, almost like a modern-day opiate for the masses. Look around! Music, movies, and social media have all embraced this trend wholeheartedly. Hard rock bands are getting weirder. Hip-hop has shifted from clever wordplay to flaunting the outrageous. Our social feeds are inundated with sensationalized content that prioritizes shock value over substance. These entertainers—many will argue—are low-lives who peddle the very obscenities that lock our minds in a holding pattern.

The Escape Hatch

For many, there’s undeniable pleasure to be found in swearing and indulging in the darker corners of entertainment. In a world that often feels suffocating and demanding, these lower thoughts offer sweet respite. They give a break from the torturous process of self-examination and moral reckoning.

As we indulge in these lower episodes, we develop a peculiar sense of pride. This results in detachment from the weightier aspects of life. Yet, people who want to avoid reality often meet that proverbial devil. It lurks in the shadows of our consciousness, ready to catch us off-guard when we try to look away.

Wrapping It Up

It seems that our fascination with lower ideas is a complex tapestry. It is woven from society’s expectations, personal insecurities, and the ever-existing truth that challenges us. As children grow, they must shed the comforts of the lower. They need to embrace the poignant truths that will reveal themselves in time.

So, are we programmed to turn to the base and grimy? Maybe. But recognizing this curiosity can pave the way for deeper conversations. Let’s not avoid the higher. Instead, we should strive for a balance where we can watch those tendencies toward obscenity. At the same time, we need to push ourselves toward growth and understanding. After all, the light can be scary, but it’s also where real growth happens. Becoming who we are meant to be is a journey worth taking.
